The beauty of the lake

Stresa and the Borromean Islands lie just 20 km from the hotel and can be reached by car or with the Arona-Stresa-Isole Ferry
Stresa, a town boasting an abundance of aristocratic villas and countless Liberty-style hotels that border the lake, is the starting point for numerous itineraries. Nestled amidst the hills lies the Alpinia Botanical Garden, which is sure to be of great interest to nature enthusiasts.
From the lido, you will be able to reach and visit the splendid islands of Madre, Bella and Pescatori.
Using the chairlift, you will also be able to reach the summit of Mount Mottarone (1491 m).

Rocca di Angera Castle, is situated just 14 km from the hotel and can be reached by car or with the Arona-Angera Ferry.
The fortified Medieval structure enjoys awe-inspiring views of both the lake and town of Arona. The castle is also home to the Museum of Dolls and Toys.

The Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso is located 28 km from the hotel and can be reached by car or with the Arona-Stresa-Eremo di Santa Caterina Ferry.
A monastery overhanging the lake, resulting in a suggestive and enchanting ambient, an authentic 'balcony' over the Borromean Gulf.

Arona, San Carlone and La Rocia > 4 km by car. Arona offers visitors countless itineraries and activities.
The splendid pedestrian zone, shopping centre with elegant and prestigious stores. The waterfront, which may be walked or cycled, is characterised by a park boasting water features, as well as by the bridge and passageway beneath a glorious wisteria pergola. Arona is renowned for its delicious patisseries, lounge bar, restaurants and night club, which all bring the town to life. The 35-metre tall Statue of 'San Carlone', with accessible interior, and the ruins of Rocca di Arona, with its spectacular panoramas, are also well worth a visit.
The Lagoni di Mercurago Natural Park > 2.5 km on foot
Visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature whilst enjoying undemanding walks with four different themed routes.
The park can be reached on foot, horseback, bike and even on skates.
Lake Orta > 18 km by car
Things to see:
- Orta, the Sacro Monte and the Island of San Giulio. (23 km)
- The Calderara Foundation in Vacciago, home to works of art by Fontana, Klein, Manzoni and Pomodoro, amongst others. (17 km)
- The Torre di Buccione and the natural reserve (17 km)
- Madonna del Sasso (31 km)
- From the lido in Gozzano, there is also a pedestrian and cycle path that runs along the eastern bank of the lake, leading to Pella. (18 km)
